Add-ons are extra products and services that the fan buys together with the tickets: a welcome drink, the shuttle, a T-shirt, a locker. You configure them in the Add tickets step, link them to the access titles, and the fan finds them in a dedicated step, Extras, during checkout. An extra is not a ticket: it has no QR code of its own and stays linked to the ticket it was bought with.
At a glance
- Where: web console, event dashboard → Edit event → Add tickets step → Add-ons section, after the access title and seat map sections.
- Permissions: Manage ticketing; among the predefined roles only the Administrator has it.
- What you get: extras offered only to fans who have in their cart a ticket of a linked access title, included automatically (fixed quantity) or chosen by the fan (flexible quantity).
- Fees: on extras they are set by Nightify; the editor has no fee field and you cannot change them.
- Fiscal document: for extra products and services you issue it yourself as the organizer.
Before you start
- Create the access titles first: without titles the Associated admissions section shows Create a ticket type first to link it to this extra.
- Prepare the name, description, final price including VAT and VAT rate of every extra, and optionally a photo in JPG, PNG or WebP.
Step by step
- Open the Add-ons section. What you see: the description Create extras and link them to admissions. The organizer issues the fiscal document for these products and services., the extras table (empty: No add-ons configured.) and below it the Create add-on block with Choose a category to create an extra.
- Choose the category among Drink, Transport, Merchandise, Cloakroom and lockers, Accommodation, Insurance and Other. What you see: the Create add-on window with the Status menu at the top and the sections Product details, Associated admissions, Checkout settings, Product image and Refunds and transfers (the last two collapsed).
- Fill in the details: Name and Description (with one tab per language), Price (€, VAT included), VAT (%) (proposed at 22) and Available quantity, which starts with Infinite quantity selected.
- Link the titles. Tick the boxes of the access titles the extra should be offered with.
- Choose how it is bought. In How customers can purchase this extra choose Fixed quantity per ticket (default) or Flexible quantity per ticket; with the second one Minimum per selected ticket and Maximum per ticket appear. For Insurance only the fixed quantity is available.
- Add the image (optional) with Upload image or by dragging it onto Drag the image here.
- Set refund and conditions in Refunds and transfers: Individual add-on refund, Refund deadline (UTC, optional) and Terms and conditions.
- Confirm with Create add-on. Result: the window closes, the extra appears in the table and the draft is saved automatically (Saved indicator). With Cancel you close without adding anything.
- Publish. Tap Publish event or, for an event already online, Publish changes. Result: the extras go online only when Nightify approves the draft, like any other change to the event.
Fields and options
| Field | What it means | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The name the fan sees in the Extras step, in the summary and in the reservation. | Required in the main language; up to 255 characters. If you fill in a translation, the name in that language is required. |
| Description | What the extra includes and how it is used at the event. | Optional; up to 5,000 characters. |
| Price (€, VAT included) | Final price per unit. | Required; from €0 to €1,000,000, to the cent. |
| VAT (%) | Rate already included in the price, used in the non-fiscal summary. | Required; from 0 to 100, proposed at 22. |
| Available quantity / Infinite quantity | Units that can be sold in total, adding up all tickets and all orders. | Up to 100,000,000 or unlimited; in the table no limit is shown as ∞. |
| Associated admissions | The titles the extra is offered with. | Without links the extra can never be bought. |
| Fixed quantity per ticket | One unit included automatically in every linked ticket; the fan cannot remove it. | Minimum and maximum are always 1. |
| Flexible quantity per ticket | For each ticket the fan chooses whether to add the extra and how many units. | Minimum from 1 to 1,000; maximum between the minimum and 1,000. The minimum does not force a purchase. |
| Product image | Photo shown on the extra’s card. | JPG, PNG or WebP; up to 20 MB. |
| Individual add-on refund | Only when unused (default), Non-refundable or Including used units. | Rule applied by Nightify if it has to refund the extra separately from the ticket. |
| Refund deadline (UTC, optional) | Date and time after which the extra can no longer be refunded, whatever the rule. | Expressed in UTC: with Italian summer time 20:00 corresponds to 18:00 UTC. The fan sees the deadline in the event’s time zone, for example Refundable until THU 24 SEP / 20:00. |
| Terms and conditions | Pickup times, requirements, restrictions. | Up to 10,000 characters; the fan reads them after the purchase. |
| Status | Active offers the extra; Hidden keeps the configuration but neither shows nor includes it. | Applied when you confirm the window. |
What happens next
- In the Status column of the table you read Active, Hidden or No linked tickets (active but without titles: it cannot be bought).
- To change an extra use Edit add-on and confirm with Apply changes; to delete it use Remove and confirm Remove this add-on and its ticket links?
- You can edit or remove an extra even after the first sales: units already sold keep a fixed copy of the name, price and rules at the time of purchase.
- When you duplicate the event the extras are copied, with their links to the new titles.
Messages and errors
| Message | Why it appears | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Check add-on information, quantities, commissions and associated admissions. | An extra breaks the rules: missing or too long name, price with more than two decimals, minimum or maximum out of range, translation without a name, link to an invalid title. | Open the extras with Edit add-on and correct them. |
| Unable to upload the image. Try again. | The file did not arrive or was not accepted. For a file over 20 MB, in an unsupported format or damaged, the specific image upload message appears instead. | Try again; if the specific message appears, reduce or convert the file. |
| Create a ticket type first to link it to this extra. | The event has no access titles yet. | Create a title and reopen the extra. |
Special cases
- Fixed-quantity extra sold out. The linked tickets cannot be bought until you increase the availability or hide the extra.
- Event with a seat map. Every seat is a ticket: the extra is added seat by seat.
- Free extra. You can set the price to 0, for example for a gift included in the ticket.
Rules and limits
- At most 100 extras per event and 1,000 units of the same extra per ticket.
- Changes to extras follow the normal draft, review and publication cycle.
- The refund rule stays fixed on sales already made.
