Every on-site ticket is recorded by Nightify as “being sent” before it reaches the printer. If the printer’s confirmation does not arrive (timeout, unplugged cable, closed browser), the ticket stays in an uncertain state and the page never resends it by itself: you are the one who physically checks the printer and decides. This way a fiscal ticket is never printed twice by mistake.
At a glance
- Where: On-Site Ticketing tab, Print queue and Print new tickets sections.
- Permissions: the same as for the on-site sale.
- What you get: every ticket printed only once and an order that can always be recovered, from another workstation too.
Before you start
- Wait for the printer to finish working before deciding.
- Keep the tickets that have already come out at hand: the ticket code is printed on the ticket itself.
Step by step
- Read the notice. What you see: a box with the ticket code and the note Wait for the printer to finish and check the indicated ticket. If the send failed during this session, the status line also shows Delivery uncertain: physically check the ticket before continuing.; if you reopen the order from the queue you see the box. The Print new tickets button stays disabled.
- Check the printer. Look for the ticket with that code.
- If the ticket came out press I confirm: ticket printed. Result: the ticket counts as sent and the progress is updated.
- If the ticket did not come out first stop or clear any jobs queued on the printer, then press I confirm: not printed and queue empty. Result: the ticket goes back into the queue.
- Resume printing with Print new tickets. The decision is recorded.
Fields and options
| Element | What it means | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh order status | Reloads the status of the order’s tickets from the server. | Use it after a conflict or if a colleague has worked on the same order. |
| Row in the Print queue | Order code, print progress and any delivery notice requiring review. | Press Details and recovery to open the order in the print section. |
What happens next
- Every decision is kept together with the order; Nightify staff can consult the print logs.
- When all the tickets are marked as sent the print button stays disabled and the progress shows … tickets sent to the printer.
Messages and errors
| Message | Why it appears | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The ticket state has changed. Refresh the order status. | Another workstation has worked on the same order, or the confirmation is no longer valid. | Press Refresh order status and check the progress. |
| Print logs awaiting synchronization: the page retries by itself. Printing resumes as soon as the logs are on the server. | The logs have not reached Nightify yet (usually because of the connection). The page retries after 2, 5, 15 and 30 seconds and when the network comes back. | Check the connection and wait: selling and printing unlock by themselves. |
| Cannot store logs in this browser: enable site storage for this page. The page retries by itself. | The browser blocks site storage. | Enable it in the browser settings or leave private browsing. |
| The new on-site order is not available for this workstation. | The code in the address is not an on-site order of the event. | Check the order code and return to the event’s On-Site Ticketing page. |
Special cases
- Browser closed while printing: reopen the page and press Details and recovery for the order in the queue. The ticket that was in progress appears as an uncertain send; those already confirmed are not reprinted.
- Access title cancelled after the sale: if it had not been sent yet it leaves the queue; an access title added to the order later enters the queue and is printed by reopening the order.
- Two workstations on the same order: Nightify accepts only one send per ticket. While a ticket is printing on one workstation, the other one sees it as uncertain and shows the recovery box; the conflict message only appears if two operations on the same ticket arrive almost at the same instant.
Rules and limits
- A ticket in an uncertain state is never resent automatically.
- The print queue shows unfinished orders created by your account.
