Duplication is the quickest way to manage recurring formats (weekly evenings, subsequent editions): it copies the configuration of an existing event into a new draft, which you then adapt and send for verification as a new event.
At a glance
- Where: list of live or past events → row Options menu (three dots) → Duplicate.
- Permissions: Manage events.
- What you get: a new Draft opened immediately in the Event page step, with the message Event duplicated successfully.
Step by step on the website
- Find the event. From the console open live events or past events: it can be duplicated in both cases.
- Duplicate. Press the three dots Options in the row and choose Duplicate. What do you see: the request Do you want to duplicate this event? A new draft event will be created. Confirm.
- Check the new draft. Result: you are taken to the Event page step of the new event with the message Event duplicated correctly. Update: the title if it contains the date, Event start date and time and Event end date and time (those of the original are copied), the images if they change, and in the Add step tickets the start and end dates of sales and the quantities of each title, as well as capacity and SIAE data if necessary.
- Publish. Complete the Publish step and press Publish event: the duplicate follows the normal verification.
What gets copied and what doesn't
| Item | Copied | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Event page (title and summary in all languages, start and end dates, time zone, location, Highlights, FAQ) | Yes | The dates need to be updated. |
| Images (main, square, gallery) | Yes | Replaceable by the Event page step. |
| Access cards with translations, prices, quantities, status, buyer form and order limits | Yes | Copied sales dates may be in the past. |
| Seat map | Yes | A copy of the map is created with a new identifier, linked only to the new event. |
| Capacity, SIAE configuration (category, ticket office, BA code, distributor), web and app payment methods, commission configuration | Yes | Check the SIAE data if the permit changes. |
| Category and types, visibility, tags, lineup, tracking pixel, contact phone, WhatsApp info request, external ticketing link, additional email text, connected organizations | Yes | Check visibility and any password. |
| Reservations, receipts, statistics, admissions, monitoring channels, promotions, report links | No | The new event starts from scratch. |
| Approval Status | No | The copy is a Draft and needs to be verified. |
What happens next
- The new event appears in the list of live events with a Draft status and in the Change history it reports the duplication operation with the identifier of the source event.
- The original event is not affected.
Messages and errors
| Message | Why it appears | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Failed to duplicate the event. | Copy failed (temporary error, or the source event has no connected organizations). | Reload the page and try again; if it persists, contact support. |
| Your user does not have access to this resource. | Your role does not have Manage events. | Ask an Administrator. |
| The end of sales cannot be in the past. (on publication) | The copied sales dates have already passed. | Update the start and end dates of sales for each title in Add Tickets. |
| The event end date must not have passed. It is not possible to publish an event on a past date. | The copied event dates are in the past. | Update Event start date and time and Event end date and time. |
Special cases
- Which version is copied. For a published or approved event, the online version is copied; for an event that has never been published, the last snapshot saved (even a draft) is copied.
- Event with numbered seats. The map is duplicated: in the new event you can modify it freely from Edit seat map, because it does not yet have reservations.
- Duplicate from a past event. All dates (event and sales) are in the past - update before posting.
Rules and limits
- Duplication requires that the source event is linked to at least one organization.
- The duplicate always starts as a Draft in the same organization and goes through verification.
- Sales data, reservations and statistics are never copied.
