The photos of an event that is already published can be updated on their own, without touching the rest of the draft and without a past date or a title to fix blocking the submission. It is the right way to change the cover of an event on sale or to publish the photos of the night after it has taken place.
At a glance
- Where: Publish images only button in the bar at the bottom of the Publish step and of the Event page step, next to Publish changes.
- Permissions: Manage events.
- When it appears: only if the event already has an approved version, there is an unpublished revision (draft or rejected changes), its images differ from the ones online and no review is in progress.
- What you get: a revision limited to the images, approved with the standard Nightify review, while the other changes stay in the draft.
Step by step
- Upload the images. In the Event page step, section Add event image (Upload and manage the event’s main image, square format, and photo gallery.), update Image, Square image (optional) and Photo gallery. Wait until every upload is finished.
- Press Publish images only. What you see: hovering over the button you read Send only the main image, square image and gallery of this draft for review, without the other changes and without the full event validation.
- Confirm. Result: Images sent for review. appears and you are taken back to the event dashboard, which shows Changes under review; the editing pages stay locked until the outcome, as for every submission for review.
- Approval. You receive the status change e-mail; the new images replace the previous ones on the public page, in the app and in the Event photos section.
What happens to the other changes
- Texts, tickets, category and everything else in the draft are not published: after the images are approved the draft is carried back over the new live version, with the images you have just published, and you can submit it later with Publish changes.
- If the images are rejected, the original revision goes back to the draft exactly as it was, with all the changes.
- If you cancel the review of the images, the summary revision is deleted and the original draft becomes the latest version again. A revision rejected with the images scope and picked up again as a draft loses the scope.
- In the Change history the submission is recorded as
submit_pendingwith the indication of the images scope.

Special cases
- Event already held. The full validation would report The event end date must not be in the past…; publishing the images only does not run it, so you can publish the photos of the night.
- The button does not appear. Check the four conditions: an approved version exists, a draft or rejected changes are there, images different from the ones online, no review in progress.
- Images updated by artificial intelligence. The automatic updates use the same mechanism, but they are approved right away.
Rules and limits
- Only the main image, the square image and the gallery are sent; no other field.
- The last published main image cannot be removed with this function.
- An approved version is required: for an event that has never been published use Publish event.
