The Event promotion page is the control panel for the organization’s promotions: how much you have spent, what is running and which events you can still push. The subtitle sums it up: Monitor costs, active promotions and launch new campaigns for … future events. with the name of the organization.
At a glance
- Where: organization console → Event promotion card (eyebrow Promotions, text Track spend, active promotions and choose which events to feature.) → Go to promotions; the same page can be reached from the console menu.
- Permissions: Manage event marketing; without this permission the card does not appear.
- What you get: four metrics, the Active promotions table and the Events to promote table with the Promote and Manage buttons.
Step by step
- Open the page. From the organization console press Go to promotions in the Event promotion card. What you see: the title Event promotion, the subtitle and, on the right, the Go to events button, which opens the list of the events in progress.
- Read the metrics. Promotion spend (Total paid to promote events.), Active promotions (Promotions currently running.), Active value (Budget currently active.), Promoted events (Events with at least one paid order.).
- Check the campaigns in progress. The Active promotions table has the columns Event (name, venue, date and time), Services, Period (start and end), Cost and Action with the Manage button, which opens Promote event for that event. If nothing is running, There are no active promotions right now. appears.
- Launch a new campaign. The Events to promote table (subtitle Choose a future event and open the promotion setup.) lists the public future events with the columns Event, Status, Services, Spend and Action. Fields and options
| Field | What it means | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Services | The active visibility surfaces, not the names of the package or the option: Featured badge, Homepage, Similar events, Results boost. | A dash means that no service is active at the moment. |
| Status (events table) | Active with at least one promotion running, Scheduled with only paid promotions starting in the future, None in the other cases. | Under the status the note Active until may appear, with the end date and time of the coverage. |
| Spend (events table) | Total of the paid orders for that event. | It also includes promotions that have already ended. |
| Cost (promotions table) | Amount paid for that promotion. | In euros. |
| Action | Promote when the status is None, Manage with an active or scheduled promotion. | Both open Promote event. |
What happens next
- The metrics and the tables are updated with every order paid or ended; promotions that are over leave Active promotions but they are still counted in Promotion spend and Promoted events.
- To judge the return of a promotion, compare the Trend in the Statistics of the event before and during the promoted period.
Messages and errors
| Message | Why it appears | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| There are no active promotions right now. | No promotion is running. | Launch a campaign from the Events to promote table. |
| There are no future public events to promote for this organization. | The events are past, private, drafts or under review. | Publish an event with public visibility and a future date. |
| Promotion tables are not available yet: the dashboard can show events, but cannot calculate orders and activations. | The feature is not enabled yet on the installation. | Contact Nightify support. |
Special cases
- Scheduled promotion. The event shows as Scheduled but it does not appear in Active promotions until the promotion starts.
- More than one promotion on the same event. In Active promotions every order that is paid and running has a row of its own; in the events table the Spend adds them up.
Rules and limits
- The page shows only future events with public visibility: a private event cannot be promoted.
- Promotions are per single event.
