Taranto is getting ready for five days of music by the sea. Medimex 2026, the festival and music conference promoted by Regione Puglia and Puglia Culture as part of Puglia Sounds, runs from 17 to 21 June and has its live heart on the Rotonda del Lungomare, with two international concerts to mark in your diary.
The concerts
- Saturday 20 June, 20:30: Pet Shop Boys with DREAMWORLD The Greatest Hits Live, the immersive show that retraces forty years of hits, and Agents Of Time, the electronic outfit from Puglia.
- Sunday 21 June, 20:30: Suede, with their best-known songs and tracks from Antidepressants (2025); Slowdive, returning to Medimex after their 2017 concert in Bari; NYC Redux Band playing the music of Ramones, a world premiere and an original festival production.
The Ramones tribute
To mark fifty years of punk, Medimex brings together a supergroup curated by Marc Urselli to reinterpret the Ramones’ debut album: on stage, among others, Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Kid Congo Powers, Steve Conte (New York Dolls) and Eugene Hutz (Gogol Bordello).
Why this event is not to be missed
Pet Shop Boys exclusively for southern Italy, Suede and Slowdive at their only announced Italian date: Medimex brings to Puglia names rarely seen together, alongside showcases, talks and the conference dedicated to industry professionals.
