For those who make music as well as dance to it, 2026 has a fixed date. From Sunday 12 to Tuesday 14 April 2026 Fiera di Rimini hosts MIR, the trade fair for audio, video, lighting and live technology, and within it the MIR Club: the area conceived as Italy’s main meeting point for DJ culture and technology for DJs and producers.
What’s on at MIR Club
- Masterclasses and seminars with professionals from the scene, and an arena with dozens of decks to try out.
- Vinyl Lounge: a space inspired by Japanese listening bars, with workshops, hands-on sessions and headphone listening dedicated to analogue.
- MasterLab: interactive sessions where played music meets electronics, with demonstrations by artists from the Italian scene.
- Demolition Panel: the format in which independent producers play their unreleased tracks to artists, labels and industry professionals.
The DJ battle
The novelty of 2026 is the first open-format DJ battle by Technics and AlphaTheta, scheduled for Monday 13 April at 14:00. One-on-one contests over three one-minute rounds, with the winner going through to the next round; each station has two Technics SL-1200 turntables and a Pioneer DJM-S11 mixer. On the jury is DJ TY1, ITF champion and member of Alien Army, the turntablist collective that has worked with many names in Italian hip hop. Registration is by email to DJ Mag Italia.
Why this event is not to be missed
It is the place where club culture is seen from behind the decks: equipment to get your hands on, meetings with people who work in music and, for emerging producers, a real chance to play their tracks to the right people.
