Milan is taking back its jazz autumn. From Monday 19 October to Sunday 8 November 2026 JAZZMI returns for its eleventh edition: three weeks of concerts, original productions, exhibitions and talks across historic theatres and clubs. The preview arrives before the official start, on Monday 12 October at the Alcatraz, with Lake Street Dive in Italy for the first time and John Splithoff opening.
The line-up
- 19 and 20 October: Erykah Badu opens the festival at the Teatro Nazionale Italiana Assicurazioni with a project for voice, piano and percussion: these are her only Italian dates.
- From 22 to 24 October: Fabrizio Bosso at the Blue Note, Songhoy Blues at BIKO, CORTO.ALTO at Santeria Toscana 31.
- 27, 29 and 30 October: Rokia Traoré at the Alcatraz, the Paolo Fresu Quintet at the Teatro Lirico Giorgio Gaber and Tommy Emmanuel at the Dal Verme.
- 3, 4 and 5 November: Gregory Porter at the Alcatraz, Ibrahim Maalouf & The Trumpets of Michel-Ange at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi and Dee Dee Bridgewater at the Blue Note with We Exist.
- 7 and 8 November: the Bill Frisell Trio at Triennale Milano Teatro and Sergio Cammariere at the Conservatorio di Milano.
Not just concerts
The festival celebrates the centenaries of Miles Davis and John Coltrane off stage as well: the Volvo Studio Milano hosts the exhibition Il Tempo del Jazz and the Cinemino screens Miles in Italy, while Night & Day brings dozens of dates to the city’s neighbourhoods.
Why this event is not to be missed
JazzMi is the moment of the year when Milan lets jazz run right through it, from the Conservatorio hall to the club on the outskirts, lining up names that rarely cross paths in the same city in the same month: from the neo-soul of Erykah Badu to the guitar of Bill Frisell. It is produced by Associazione JAZZMI, Ponderosa Music & Art and Triennale Milano Teatro, together with Blue Note Milano.
