Texan Jason Moran's debut at the end of the millennium for Blue Note was thunderous, and critics spoke of him as predestined.In no uncertain terms it was stated that he was the future of jazz.Before that, Moran had played for a few years with Greg Osby, a member of the M-Base collective.Pianist, composer, band leader, Moran was inspired by the history of jazz as well as by the most innovative trends, with a deep interest in contemporary art (Jean-Michel Basquiat, Egon Schiele, Robert Rauschenberg) which led him to collaborate with choreographers, film makers and visual artists and place himself in multimedia contexts.
