Information
With influences ranging from post-punk to shoegaze, passing through the indie rock of the seventies and eighties, World News has built its own sonic identity based on atmospheric guitars, magnetic melodies, and an energy as melancholic as it is vibrant. Its sound evokes classical references from the British scene without renouncing a personal and contemporary voice. The band debuted during lockdown with the EP Job and Money, beginning an independent journey that allowed them to consolidate a loyal fan community and an increasingly defined artistic proposal. The year 2024 represented a turning point with the release of the EPs Escape and Mindsnap, works that expanded their reach within the alternative scene. In 2025, the singles "Don't Want to Know" and "Everything Is Coming Up Roses" received great acclaim from critics, while "The Tinman" became an unexpected viral phenomenon, entering the worldwide top 10 of viral charts and accumulating millions of streams. This momentum culminated in a UK tour with all shows sold out. In 2026, World News continues its rise with sold-out concerts in the UK and Europe while preparing its long-awaited debut album.
