Information
Ava Rasti's 'La Terraza Magnética' returns with a contemporary experimental soundscapes and drone music event. The event combines voices from the contemporary international experimental scene and explores themes such as loneliness and desire. Ava Rasti constructs delicate, immersive soundscapes where ambient and drone music converge with a deeply narrative sensibility. Drone music—a genre based on sustained sounds that often linger for long periods, creating a hypnotic, immersive or meditative feeling—traverses her compositions as a space of memory and emotional suspension. After founding a female post-punk band in Iran, Ava Rasti now explores memory, repetition, and emotional fragility through minimalist and hypnotic compositions. Her repetitive melodies evoke the impossible attempt to retain memories that fade away. Pianist and bassist, Rasti works since 2020 at the intersection of ambient, contemporary classical music, and drone. Her interest in narrative has also led her to compose for cinema, signing soundtracks for films like The Great Yawn of History and 1001 Frames, presented at the Berlinale. After self-publishing albums Ginestra and The Living Room, the post-classical 130701 label of FatCat Records released her most recent work, The River.
