Information
An actor enters the theater with a suitcase. He doesn't yet know that, even before the show, he's already beginning the show. Between confessions to the audience, memories of a past life of improbable tours, makeshift dressing rooms and eccentric colleagues, an ironic and surreal monologue takes shape on the craft of acting and the meaning of success. The stage becomes an open-air dressing room where humor, bitterness and never quite realized dreams mingle. Alongside him appears a young stage director: pragmatic, disillusioned, allergic to the word "passion". The clash between the two generates a generational conflict made of lightning-quick quips, paradoxes and often uncomfortable truths. This tense dialogue reflects two opposite ways of looking at life: on one side one who still believes in theater as a vocation, on the other who sees work only as a means to earn. The result is a brilliant and biting comedy that tells with irony the behind-the-scenes of the world of entertainment, between illusions, frustrations and the stubborn search for a true applause. But when reality knocks on the door — a canceled tour, a system that always rewards the same people — the boundary between stage and life begins to crumble. And perhaps the most authentic show is the one that happens before the curtain rises.
