Mabel Olea presents 'Cut One's Teeth', a dance piece and performance exploring the transformation of a brut diamond into a poly diamond.Inspired by the English expression "do or learn something chosen from zero", this piece introduces a person engaged in a process of artistic transformation.Inspired by the images of classical dance, the proposition builds a visual and corporeal narration in which the body is worked and trained like a diamond. The references to classical art, the dance of Balanchine and the aesthetics of anime cross a creation here in dialogue between different imaginary cultures, relating the ideas of Western beauty to other regards.
