Friday 26 June, Flavia Massimo and Caterina Palazzi present Hayalet in the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate in Palestrina, forty kilometers from Rome.The convent church is the right space for music that needs silence around it - the real one, the one that can only be heard in certain places and at certain times.Flavia Massimo is a cellist, sound artist and artistic director of Paesaggi Sonori.Caterina Palazzi is a double bass player and composer, leader since 2007 of Sudoku Killer, present in the Top Jazz chart and opener of Kim Gordon's Italian tour in 2023. Together they present Hayalet, from the archaic Turkish: ghost, not as a ghostly image, but as a persistent presence, that which returns and does not allow itself to be exhausted.Cello, double bass and live electronics build a nocturnal and unstable landscape in which the sound material works through erosion and deposition, the melodies slowly emerge, deform, break.Music that doesn't accompany, holds back.From 6.00pm, the Sound Garden, adapted in the convent adjacent to the Church, opens with audio / video installations, listening sessions in headphones, DJ sets, bar and food areas.The Sound Garden has free entry and without reservation.The church opens from 9pm for concerts which will begin between 9.30pm and 9.45pm.
