Information
Mattia Labadessa, Italian author, illustrator and singer-songwriter entered the collective imagination thanks to his character, the cynical and nihilistic red bird-man who lives in a minimalist world with yellow backgrounds. Through his world and his poetics, he explores themes of anxiety, loneliness and self-discovery, placing them in an essential and profoundly poetic background. An artistic project that stands out for its ability to unite irony and melancholy, converting everyday discomfort into a universal and human language. He has published several collections of illustrations and graphic novels, including "Le cose così" (Shockdom, 2016), "Mezza fetta di limone" (Feltrinelli, 2017) and "Piccolo!" (Feltrinelli, 2019). In 2019, Labadessa undertakes a musical path publishing singles that have become the voice of the Italian indie scene such as "Montesanto", "Dovremmo prendere un cane" and "Tra le giostre", in which through deeply true verses his inner feeling is described. After an intense winter tour in completely sold out clubs, from May 2026 Labadessa will bring his project to numerous Italian festival stages making stops along the boot with his band.
