Information
What would the tragic, comic and mythological heroines who found Western culture say if they were called to the stage for a stand-up comedy monologue? And how do the vicissitudes of Antigone, Electra, Medea and others intertwine with contemporary times? How do they archetypically influence the choices of women and men of our time? Chiara Becchimanzi tries to give a very personal (and certainly inadequate) answer to these questions, mixing her own tragicomic experiences with those outlined by Hellenic poets – who, as it happens, are all men. And if those heroines had been described by women, would we have inherited the same stories or not? A comic play in which acting theater, stand-up comedy and narrative theater merge to draw unexpected and possible correspondences between eras, perceptions, syndromes, Hellenizing complexes and the history of psychoanalysis. And if after this synopsis your expectations are too high, don't worry: the artist will bring them down sharply. But in the meantime, thank the gods, she will make you laugh.
