Information
Pellegrino is a producer, DJ and songwriter, founder and soul of the Neapolitan Early Sounds Recordings label and pioneer of the new Neapolitan funk scene with his "Napoliterranean sound", a concept he coined to describe his aesthetic roots between Naples and the Mediterranean. Blending funk, disco, italo, Neapolitan vibes and jazz, his refined and evocative style evokes starry skies over Vesuvius, suspended between myth and modernity. From Naples to Berlin — where he lived for years hosting his label parties at the legendary Sameheads, his DJ sets have animated some of Europe's most renowned dancefloors, with an eclectic and refined mix of percussive grooves and avant-disco influences. His path begins with Periplo (2016), a debut album that explores trajectories between psychedelic disco and afro soundscape, followed by a series of official remixes, including A Tour In Italy by Bandaid, You're Hurting Me by Man's Face and Le Lis by Billy Cobham. In 2018 he creates the studio/live project Pellegrino & Zodyaco, debuting with an album that fuses Italian disco, jazz-funk, exotic fusion and Mediterranean mysticism — a tribute to the stars and their reflections on the sea. The journey continues with the single "Caucciù", dedicated to the magic of Capri island, with the two sides of the 7" inspired by the dreamy suggestions of two iconic places, Damecuta and the Migliera. Morphé (2020) is "dedicated to Naples seen from Vesuvius", a tale of lights and shadows fused in a magma of disco, Latin, boogie and jazz; Quimere (2022) is instead an anthem to the city's dual soul: one kissed by the sun, the other hidden in its alleys. In 2023 Pellegrino releases Malìa, a single that anticipates the third LP Koinè, released in January 2025. The album further expands his sonic universe, fusing Mediterranean seduction and refined introspection. Koinè is followed by a fortunate spring tour in the most vibrant clubs in Italy, consolidating Pellegrino & Zodyaco's distinctive live identity.
