Information
Born in Istanbul, in a building where five different faiths coexisted, Umut Adan grew up surrounded by cultural pluralism and sonic brotherhood. After moving to Italy as a student, he experimented with various musical styles. Adan's musical journey reached fundamental milestones, such as the invitation from Jack White to open his concert in Istanbul, sessions in London with producer and sound engineer Liam Watson (The White Stripes, Elephant) and his debut album Bahar (Riverboat Records), acclaimed by DownBeat and Magnet Magazine as the best of its kind worldwide. During the tours and festivals that followed, Adan forged a strong bond with his Italian musicians, whom he called Zebânis. Together they recorded their new collective album, Başka Bahar, released on March 6, 2026 by the renowned San Francisco label Six Degrees Records.
