Camilla Sparksss, known as Barbara Lehnhoff, is a Swiss-Canadian electro noise pop musician and visual artist, also known for co-founding the post-punk band Peter Kernel. She was born at -27 degrees in Kenora, Ontario (Canada). And yes, her father was flying a seaplane and she, as a child, had a bear as a pet. Her music fuses high-energy performances with heavy rhythms carved on dubplate, dense synthesizers and sharp voices. I CAVEIRAS traffic illegally in obsessive rhythms and low frequencies, aiming to infiltrate Afro-Brazilian vibrations behind the lines of punk. They are born spiritually during a pilgrimage to Rocinha: after observing two children improvising a batucada with a bucket and a barrel, they realize that the distance between Rio De Janeiro and Einstürzende Neubauten's Berlin is only apparently unbridgeable. Back home, our trio seal a blood pact and promise to show the world the dark side of samba.
