ARTISTWolf Parade
Wolf Parade is a Canadian indie rock band based in Montreal, Quebec. Formed in 2003, the group began when Spencer Krug, then a member of Frog Eyes, was asked to open a show for Arcade Fire. Krug contacted Dan Boeckner and drummer Arlen Thompson, and after the performance the musicians decided to continue making music together. By the end of that year they had independently released a four-song EP, followed by a six-song EP in 2004. The addition of keyboard player Hadji Bakara expanded the group to a quartet, and Wolf Parade signed with Sub Pop Records. Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse produced the band’s first EP for the label.
The band’s first full-length album, Apologies to the Queen Mary, was released in September 2005, followed by At Mount Zoomer in 2008. Wolf Parade released Expo 86 in 2010. After announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2011, the group reunited in 2016 and began writing and recording again. Cry Cry Cry followed in 2017. Dante DeCaro left the band in 2018, after a world tour, and Wolf Parade recorded its next album as a trio. Produced by John Goodmanson, Thin Mind was released in January 2020.
