Tom adopted the alias Werkha in 2012. His work under the name has developed a distinctive sonic portfolio, exploring live instrumentation, band arrangements, electronic production, DJ work and remixes. His sound, driven by synth and bass lines and drawing on broken, soul and funk elements, takes in the shapes and colours of many genres, reshaped through a recognisable approach to writing and production.

After his first EP, Cube & Puzzle EP, on Cool Kid Music, Werkha signed to Brighton-based label Tru Thoughts, releasing a number of records there, including his debut album. He has honed his craft through his own releases as well as production and writing work for other artists. The latest EP named in the biography, The Rigour, was released on First Word Records.
