Tomode is a Stockholm duo formed after years of friendship, choir rehearsals and a pivotal period in Tokyo. Its music brings together Scandinavian melancholy and French disco euphoria. It has been described as “the bastard child of Erasure and Chaka Khan,” while critics in France have compared the duo to Phoenix and the French Touch wave. Rolling Stone France called Tomode “the new wave of Swedish disco.”

The duo released the EPs Synergy (2021) and Riviera (2023), followed by its debut album, Existential Disco (2024). Its upcoming album, We Missed It While It Happened, is planned for February 2027 and is a collaboration with producer Pierre Riddez, whose credits include Miike Snow, Tussilago and Jelly Crystal. The project also features Nils Törnqvist and Petter Winnberg, associated with Amason and Miike Snow, as well as Alfonsina. “Honest,” featuring Swedish singer-songwriter Amanda Bergman, is described as one of the album’s first singles.
