System of a Down is a group formed in Glendale in 1995. Its members include Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, and Serj Tankian, who have been part of the group since 1994; John Dolmayan joined in 1997. Ontronik Khachaturian and Andy Khatchaturian were members from 1994 to 1997.

The group released System of a Down in 1998, followed by Toxicity in 2001 and Steal This Album! in 2002. Mezmerize and Hypnotize followed in 2005.
