ARTISTSuicide Silence

Suicide Silence formed in Riverside, California, in 2002. In 2004, the band signed with Century Media, after releasing the EP Suicide Silence on At the Deep End and SOS Records. Its label debut, The Cleansing, produced by John Travis, came out in September 2007 and reached the Top 100 of the Billboard charts. The band later toured in the United States and Europe with Parkway Drive and Bury Your Dead, and joined the 2008 Mayhem Metal Festival. Released in 2009, No Time to Bleed brought the group into the Top 40 of the album charts for the first time. The Black Crown became their highest-charting album.

After vocalist Mitch Lucker died in November 2012, the band held a memorial concert featuring different vocalists. In 2013, Hernan “Eddie” Hermida, formerly of All Shall Perish, became the new lead vocalist. The concert was released in 2014 as Ending Is the Beginning: The Mitch Lucker Memorial Show 12.21.12. The self-titled 2017 album introduced a more melodic, nu-metal-influenced direction; 2020’s Become the Hunter, produced by Steve Evetts, reduced the clean singing. With 2023’s Remember… You Must Die, Suicide Silence returned to the deathcore sound of its earlier releases. The band draws inspiration from Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse, Death, and Possessed, and incorporates elements of black metal, grindcore, mathcore, and groove metal.
