SID is a four-piece rock band formed in 2003, comprising Mao on vocals, Shinji on guitar, Aki on bass, and Yuya on drums. The band made its major-label debut in 2008 with “Monochrome no Kiss,” the opening theme for the TV anime Black Butler. Its 2010 Tokyo Dome concert drew 40,000 people.

In 2013, its tenth-anniversary year, SID released its first best album, which reached number one on the Oricon Weekly Chart. That year, the band also held an anniversary concert at Yokohama Stadium and its first outdoor tour, drawing a combined audience of 50,000. In 2024, SID released “Omokage,” the opening theme for the Japanese-dubbed version of the anime Heaven Official's Blessing 2, and “Sokuzai,” the ending theme for Black Butler: Public School Arc. That autumn, the band held a concept tour themed around white and black.
