ARTISTSaccades
Saccades is the solo project of Nicholas Wood, one half of the electronic duo The KVB. Wood introduced Saccades in 2017 with a self-titled album, moving away from The KVB’s dark soundscapes toward stripped-back psychedelic melodies and bedroom pop influences.
The follow-up, Flowing Fades, was released in April 2021 and accompanied by a UK tour. On the album, Wood broadened the project’s sonic palette with Yacht Rock influences and vintage synthesizer sounds, while retaining its relaxed, carefree style. In 2023, Saccades returned with Land of the Hearth, a more electronic, Balearic-leaning record that kept the project’s blissed-out qualities and brought together sun-soaked moods with subtle undercurrents of tension.
Saccades released Golden Days in 2026. Drawing on music from across the globe, the album was particularly inspired by crate-digging discoveries: obscure psychedelic music and rare soul records from the 1960s and ’70s. The singles “It Doesn’t Matter” and “Greek Fire” explored a more lo-fi pop sound with strong hauntological influences. The album blends woozy, nostalgic production with the project’s ethereal, introspective core.
