ARTISTMAXIMUM THE HORMONE
MAXIMUM THE HORMONE is a Japanese band formed in 1998. The group released its debut album, A.S.A. Crew, in 1999 and the EP Hou in 2001. After guitarist Sugi and bassist Key left, the band temporarily became a duo comprising vocalist Daisuke Tsuda and drummer and vocalist Nao Kawakita. It later returned as a quartet with bassist Uehara Futoshi and guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Ryo Kawakita, Nao’s brother.
The new lineup released the independent album Mimi Kajiru and, in 2004, Kusoban, by then on the VAP label. Rokkinpo Goroshi followed in 2005; the track Rolling1000toon was used in the series AirMaster. In 2006, Koi No Megalover reached number nine on the Oricon chart, while What's Up, People?! and Zetsubou Billy appeared in the final episodes of Death Note. The 2007 album Bu Ikikaesu collected these tracks and reached number five on the chart. In 2008, MAXIMUM THE HORMONE toured the United States and Canada with Dropkick Murphys, followed by a major tour in Japan, preceded by the release of the EP Tsume Tsume Tsume/F.
