ARTISTDJ Shadow
For over 30 years, DJ Shadow, the name under which Josh Davis expresses his passion, taste, and values through music, has released work that resists easy categorization. His early recordings include Endtroducing…, Psyence Fiction, released with UNKLE, The Private Press and its single “Six Days,” as well as The Outsider, a celebration of the Bay Area.
In the 2010s, he released The Less You Know, the Better, followed by The Mountain Will Fall and Our Pathetic Age, ambitious, risk-taking albums featuring collaborations with Run the Jewels, Nas, and De La Soul, among others. He later returned with Action Adventure, described as an introspective and cinematic project. His interest in music began in childhood, when he collected comic books, baseball cards, and 12-inch records, and recorded songs from late-night radio broadcasts onto cassette in northern California. His career reflects constant evolution, curiosity, and an enduring interest in the art of sound.
