Creep Hyp formed in 2001 and began working in earnest with its current lineup in November 2009. In 2012, the group made its major-label debut with the album 『死ぬまで一生愛されてると思ってたよ』. It held its first two-day run at Nippon Budokan in 2014, then returned to the venue in 2018 for 「クリープハイプのすべて」. In November 2024, it marked the current lineup’s 15th anniversary with the concert 「2024年11月16日」 at K-Arena Yokohama. From February to July 2025, the group undertook the largest national tour of its career, with 15 performances in halls and live houses and eight arena shows across four locations. In May 2026, it released the EP 『仮のまま定着したような愛情で』, its first EP in three years and two months and its first new release in a year and a half.

Singer and guitarist Ozaki Sekai-kan also writes. In 2016, he published his first novel, 『祐介』, with Bungeishunju. His other books include 『苦汁100%』 and 『苦汁200%』, both from Bungeishunju; 『泣きたくなるほど嬉しい日々に』 from KADOKAWA; the lyric collection 『私語と』 from Kawade Shobo Shinsha; 『母影』 from Shinchosha; and 『尾崎世界観の書かなかったこと日記』 from KADOKAWA. His novel 『転の声』 was published as a book by Bungeishunju in July 2024 and became his second work to be shortlisted for the Akutagawa Prize.
