ARTISTCigarettes @ Sunset

Cigarettes @ Sunset are a five-piece band from Boone, North Carolina, raised in Appalachia. The group calls its sound Possum Rock, describing it as a raw, soulful blend of Americana, indie, Appalachian folk, and rock. The lineup includes frontman Garrett Dellinger on rhythm guitar and lead vocals; Wells Whitman on bass and backing vocals; Ethan Moore on drums; Sarah Vann on violin and vocals; and Ryland Bagbey on lead guitar. The band brings together fiddle runs, gritty guitar tones, and heartfelt lyrics.

Boone was deeply impacted by Hurricane Helene in 2024. The band says the event reshaped its perspective and underscored its commitment to making music that connects and endures. Through Possum Rock, Cigarettes @ Sunset carry the spirit of Appalachia forward while exploring the boundaries of contemporary roots-driven rock.
