Its members are Masafumi Gotoh on vocals and guitar, Kensuke Kita on guitar and vocals, Takahiro Yamada on bass and vocals, and Kiyoshi Ijichi on drums. The band released 崩壊アンプリファー in 2002 and made its major-label debut in April 2003 with the same title.

In 2003, the group launched NANO-MUGEN FES. and expanded the project over the years. It also invited international artists, including WEEZER and MANIC STREET PREACHERS, as part of an effort to introduce fans to music from a range of genres. The biography characterizes Gotoh’s writing through a realistic sense of urgency and intense emotion, with even despair transformed into a driving force. It presents the band as a continuing presence in Japanese-language rock and notes its support across generations.
