OOX is a club night that explores disco and boogie music from across the world. Screen Share is a digital inclusion charity for refugees in the UK, providing access to digital devices such as laptops and phones, digital skills training and internet connectivity to those seeking sanctuary. In an increasingly digital-first society, this support is essential. It allows their clients to navigate the challenges of the UK asylum system, tackles isolation, promotes access to services and support and helps people reach their goals in education and employment. OOX and Screen Share are joining together for a summer party at Avalon Cafe, a DIY multi-arts venue in South London. The night is an opportunity for our communities to come together and celebrate the transformational impact that Screen Share has had on thousands of people's lives, whilst (hopefully) raising some funds so they can have an impact on thousands more! The night will be opened by two brilliant artists who have graduated from the Our HeartBeats programme (teaching DJ skills to those with lived experience of the asylum system). DJ Buay is a South Sudanese DJ based in London. He draws across Sudanese sounds, Afrobeats, Amapiano and Afro house, blending them into dynamic, rhythmic sets that centre community, movement and connection. DIMV is a Russian-born, London-based DJ whose sets are a form of self-expression - using music to tell stories shaped by migration, queerness and curiosity. Proceeds will be donated to Screen Share to continue delivering this invaluable support. Please consider buying an Enhanced Donation...
