Declan Welsh and the Decadent West return with their third album 'Explicit Agitation' on October 22, 2026. This album is a fierce and clear reflection of the present moment, refusing to divert attention. It's also their most comprehensive work: alongside political themes, there are love, solitude, loss of faith, and a sincere reflection on the role of engaged art. Recorded with Chris Marshall at Castle of Doom Studios, the album announces its intentions clearly. The music is up to the task. Led by singer-composer Declan Welsh, the group now surrounds themselves with a changing circle of friends and musicians, including longtime bassist Ben Corlett. They've built their reputation on intense live performances and a compelling, moving songwriting. Their first album 'Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold' was shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year; their second album has made them an不可miss and major force on stage. They've been headliners at the Barrowland Ballroom twice, dominated the Tenement Trail programming, and performed at TRNSMT, with appearances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, and Reeperbahn.
