Dave Matthews Band si è formato nel 1991 a Charlottesville. Tra i membri del gruppo figurano Dave Matthews, Carter Beauford e Stefan Lessard. Peter Griesar ne fece parte fino al 23 marzo 1993; LeRoi Moore fino al 19 agosto 2008 e Boyd Tinsley fino al 2 febbraio 2018. Tim Reynolds è membro dal giugno 2008, mentre Arthur Strong lo è dal 2018.

La discografia comprende l’album Remember Two Things (1993), seguito nel 1994 dall’EP Recently e dall’album Under the Table and Dreaming. Tra gli album successivi figurano Crash (1996) e Before These Crowded Streets (1998). Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King uscì nel 2009; Away From the World nel 2012, Come Tomorrow nel 2018 e Walk Around the Moon nel 2023.
