Architects of sound design and voyagers of unexplored realities, the Brooklyn-based production duo MEMBA has steadily elevated their status over the past few years by crafting electronic music that is propped up by a rich tapestry of ancient world rhythms. MEMBA charted globally with their song "For Aisha," a tribute to Ishaan’s sister. The track’s inclusion in the Bollywood film "The Sky Is Pink," which premiered at TIFF and is now available on Netflix, propelled its reach to a global audience, solidifying MEMBA’s ability to create music that strikes a deeply personal chord while resonating with a wide spectrum of listeners. 2018 saw the release of SAGA-I, an EP based around a particularly filthy planet in the MEMBA universe. The EP was transformed into a multisensory experience by coupling each track with relics from the planet that allowed the listener to taste, smell, feel, and see the music. The SAGA-I experience came to life at a sold-out warehouse event in Brooklyn. In 2019, MEMBA released SAGA-II on ODESZA’s label Foreign Family. The EP story was told through an audio-visual short film that showcased another planet in their universe. The duo further expanded their catalog in 2021 with the launch of their PHASES project; a 4 EP offering that was released on every full moon between April – July, celebrating changes in state, in humans and all matter.
