After more than forty years since the death of Bill Evans (1980), the project presented by the “Tribute to Evans” presented by the “Giuseppe Sacchi Trio”, a trio gathered specifically for the occasion, confers a special recognition, full of ‘recognising sentiments’, to what is defined as one of the greatest exponents of jazz music after World War II. The breadth of Bill Evans' musical heritage is still a source of inspiration for all modern pianists who continue to discover in his style an inexhaustible and extremely modern concept of piano and in general, interpretive of jazz, studied and admired all over the world A “Colossu” to which the “Tribute to Evans”, formed by Giuseppe Sacchi on the piano, Vincenzo Quirico on the double bass and Vincenzo Pellegrino on the drumsthey wanted to devote much of the musical energies available to them A “Colossu” to which the “Tribute to Evans” wanted to devote much of its energies, with a look at what this wonderful musical conception of Bill Evans, evolving, could become in the future. Evans' introspective style marries wonderfully with the undisputed piano skills of Giuseppe Sacchi, who, together with a very personal style, recalls to the most classic romanticism, not disconnected by a deep predisposition to dialogue with other musicians and a improvisation that allows different influences and contaminations to be transpared. Giuseppe Sacchi, now a solid certainty on the Roman scene and not only, inspired by Evans continues, in fact, in his incessant search for new “atmosfere”,proposing phrasing and harmonies that force the listener to follow numerous and unexpected harmonic evolutions. The dialogue between musicians is expressed in a rich and constant exchange of ideas that sometimes arise even at the moment and represent the pure essence of the message left inherit by Evans: a harmonious and democratic sharing of ideas, based on expressive freedom. The interpretations of Sacchi, always full of poetry and his personal style, in the current project, almost magically recalcate the “ormes” of Bill Evans, almost to want to continue an unfinished work that sometimes seems almost protracted to Infinity.
