Information
Through voice, flutes, organ, drums and synth, Les Biologistes Marins intertwine layers of sound of different materiality to immerse themselves and listeners in a fluid and refined atmosphere.Sound is approached as a sensorial experience, without trying to define it within predetermined idioms.Starting from ambient as a reference genre, Les Biologistes Marins search for a personal color, working more on the perceptive power of sound than on its aesthetic form. The duo explores, in a continuous research process, the possibilities of instruments to question the limits of sound and its transformations, integrating it with touches of refined electronics. This practice also extends to collecting inspiration and materials from water sources in different environments. From these experiences arise site-specific works that reflect on the multiple meanings of water: its aesthetics, its use and the symbolic and material values connected to it.
